In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested for the alleged killing of a 70-year-old woman during a dispute with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. The deceased woman, Ramvati Devi, intervened in an argument between her son, Bijendra Kumar, and the accused, Majid, who lived in the same neighborhood. Majid reportedly pushed Ramvati during the altercation, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries. ACP Abhishek Srivastava stated that Bijendra lived with his family in Madhuban Bapudham and the incident occurred when Majid, an e-rickshaw driver under the influence of alcohol, was confronted by Bijendra outside their residence. Ramvati tried to calm the situation but was pushed by Majid, leading to her death. Ramvati's body underwent a post-mortem examination, and an FIR was lodged against Majid under specific sections. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody after appearing in court.
